Our PC government’s Cellular for Nova Scotia plan to expand reliable cellular service across the province has reached another important milestone.
New towers are now active at four sites—three in southwest Nova Scotia and one in Halifax County—bringing stronger connectivity to thousands of Nova Scotians who previously lacked adequate service. The newly activated sites include:
- East Kemptville, Yarmouth County
- Middle Ohio, Shelburne County
- North Range Corner, Digby County
- Millen Mountain, Halifax County
These new towers will improve safety and communication for thousands of Nova Scotians living, working, and travelling in dozens of surrounding communities.
“With these towers now up and running, we’re making it safer and more connected for people in these communities,” said Public Works Minister Fred Tilley, also the Minister responsible for Build Nova Scotia. “Whether calling for help in an emergency, staying in touch with family, working from home or learning online, reliable cellular service makes a real difference.”
The new towers were delivered through the Cellular for Nova Scotia Program partnership between the Province and service provider Rogers.
Under Phase 1, Rogers is upgrading 27 sites across the province. In Phase 2, the Province will add 27 more government-owned towers to further expand coverage in rural and underserved areas.
Our PC government is delivering on its commitment to keep communities connected and safe.
