PC Government Delivers Tax Relief for Nova Scotia Seniors: Seniors Income Tax Refund

PC Government Delivers Tax Relief for Nova Scotia Seniors: Seniors Income Tax Refund

More Nova Scotia seniors are keeping what they’ve earned thanks to Premier Tim Houston and our PC government. This year, about 19,000 low-income seniors received tax refunds through a program available only in Nova Scotia—that’s more than 2,000 additional seniors compared to last year. In total, $31 million has gone back into the pockets of seniors across the province.

This tax refund program is a direct result of PC leadership and our focus on making life more affordable. Seniors who receive the federal Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) and pay provincial income tax qualify to have that provincial tax refunded in full. The refund is processed automatically when filing a tax return—no application required.

By delivering this support year after year, Tim Houston and our PC team are helping seniors stay in their homes, ease financial pressure, and live with more security and dignity.

Nova Scotia seniors deserve respect and relief—and our PC government is making it happen.
