People in Dartmouth North and surrounding communities now have access to a new health clinic designed to bring more care, services and support closer to home.
The Dr. Maria Angwin Memorial – Wyse Road Health Clinic is now open in Dartmouth and will offer a range of collaborative healthcare services, including primary care, gynecology, obstetrics, urology and midwifery. The clinic will also host community programs such as the Nova Scotia Sisterhood and Nova Scotia Brotherhood, helping connect healthcare with broader community support.
This new clinic is another example of the PC government’s work to strengthen healthcare access, expand frontline services and build healthier communities across Nova Scotia.
“Creating safe and healthy communities where Nova Scotians can access comprehensive and connected healthcare is a priority,” said PC Health and Wellness Minister Michelle Thompson. “This health clinic is a first for the community and one of two locations that, over time, will offer various services, programs and supports to Dartmouth North and surrounding communities.”
Primary care services open today, June 17. The team at this health home includes four family physicians, a family practice nurse, a nurse practitioner and five administrative support staff. When fully operational, it will have capacity for more than 6,400 patients. The remaining services and programs will open throughout June and July.
Located at 230 Wyse Rd., this is the first of two new healthcare facilities planned for the community, with a second site on Windmill Road expected to be completed in 2027. Together, these investments will help ensure more Nova Scotians can access the care they need, where and when they need it.
