DARTMOUTH, N.S. – Premier Houston’s PC government has opened more affordable homes on a site that was protested by NDP Leader Claudia Chender.
Today 57 more homes, including 40 affordable units, opened at Mount Hope Village in Dartmouth South, Claudia Chender’s constituency.
This is the third phase of the project, bringing the total to 123 homes.

“Our government understands the need to build more homes, including affordable housing, to ensure that Nova Scotians have safe places to live,” said Eastern Passage MLA Barbara Adams. “The NDP like to talk about the need for more homes, but when the time came to support building or blocking, they chose to stand against this development, which is offering a safe home to some of our most vulnerable Nova Scotians.”
The PC Government will continue to protect our future by building more homes, faster, including affordable housing.
