DARTMOUTH, N.S. – Last week, NDP Leader Claudia Chender attended the ribbon cutting of affordable housing units that she protested the construction of in 2022.
The ribbon cutting on September 2 added 57 more homes, including 40 affordable units.

Despite Claudia’s long-opposition to these new housing projects in her constituency of Dartmouth South, including tabling a petition opposing their construction, Chender attended the ribbon cutting ceremony to be included in photo opportunities on September 2.

“Our government understands the need to build more homes, including affordable housing, to ensure that Nova Scotians have safe places to live,” said Eastern Passage MLA Barbara Adams. “The NDP like to talk about the need for more homes, but when the time came to support building or blocking, they chose to stand against this development, which is offering a safe home to some of our most vulnerable Nova Scotians.”
The PC Government will continue to protect our future by building more homes, faster, including affordable housing.
