Construction is underway on new public housing on Old Beaver Bank Road in Lower Sackville, with roof components being craned into place this week to complete the assembly of 75 modular units.
This project shows how modular construction can help deliver more public housing for Nova Scotians, faster. Eastcut began building the units at its Trenton facility last September, while DORA Construction completed the site preparation and foundation work in Lower Sackville.
Work will continue through the summer and fall, including electrical and plumbing connections, as well as shingling, siding, painting, waterproofing, and landscaping. It is encouraging to see this project moving forward and helping create more homes for Nova Scotians.

This project is part of the Nova Scotia PC Government’s plan to deliver more housing, faster, for families, seniors and workers across the province. Through Our Homes, Action for Housing, the government has committed $251 million to build 515 new public housing units that will support more than 1,300 Nova Scotians.
