For too long, Nova Scotia Power operated without real competition. The past Liberal & NDP governments talked about change — but nothing happened.
Now, real competition is finally taking shape.
The Mersey River Wind project will bring 33 wind turbines online, generating 148.5 megawatts of clean electricity — enough to power more than 50,000 homes directly. Construction will create more than 200 jobs at peak.
Most importantly, Renewall Energy has secured Nova Scotia’s first renewable-to-retail licence. That means renewable electricity can be sold directly to residents and businesses independently of Nova Scotia Power. For the first time, Nova Scotians will have a real choice in who they buy their power from.
