Families in Colchester and Inverness counties will soon have greater access to high-quality child-care thanks to new spaces being created by our PC government.
Through targeted investments in early learning infrastructure, the Lower Onslow Preschool Association in Masstown, Colchester County, is creating 52 new spaces for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. In Margaree, Inverness County, the East Coast Early Learning Association is adding 14 new toddler and preschool spaces.
“Nova Scotians need better access to child-care, and that’s what our government is delivering,” said Brendan Maguire, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development. “Investments in child-care support our communities by helping families participate in the workforce and grow Nova Scotia’s economy.”
These projects are funded through the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development’s Minor Infrastructure Program:
- ✅ The Lower Onslow Preschool Association received $771,000 and expects to open its new spaces next spring.
- ✅ The East Coast Early Learning Association received $393,000 and is expected to have new spaces open this fall.
These child-care investments represent another step in our PC government’s commitment to making life more affordable for families and giving children across Nova Scotia the best start possible.
