Nova Scotian families in Sydney will soon have better access to child care thanks to a new partnership between our PC government and Cape Breton University (CBU).
Plans are underway to build a new 104-space early learning and child-care centre on the CBU campus, located behind the new medical school.
The new centre will offer high-quality programs for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers—helping more families access the care they need—close to where they live, work, or study.
“We’re improving access to child care, which means families will have the support they need close to home and work,” said Brendan Maguire, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development. “Investing in affordable child care helps families keep more money in their pockets while their children get the best possible start.”
This child care centre represents another step in our PC government’s commitment to making life more affordable for families and giving children across Nova Scotia the best start possible.
