Families in Kings County will soon have more access to child care, thanks to a significant investment in the Stepping Stone Preschool and Childcare Centre in Auburn.
Our PC government is investing $2.5 million to support the Nova Scotia College of Early Childhood Education in purchasing and expanding the centre. Once complete, the expansion will create 42 new child-care spaces for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. These new spots are expected to be available by next spring.
“The demand for child-care spaces in Kings County continues to grow,” said Chris Palmer, MLA for Kings West. “This investment will add more child-care spaces in our community as well as provide practicum opportunities for future childhood educators.”
In addition to supporting families, this investment strengthens early childhood education by offering hands-on learning opportunities for students training to become early childhood educators.
With investments like this, our Houston government is ensuring that families have access to high-quality, affordable child care while building a stronger future for early childhood education in Nova Scotia.
